Paul Doran

Paul is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant with over 30 years’ experience in practice. He has a wide experience, across a range of business sectors from drinks and hospitality, agri-foods, to road transport and haulage.
Paul works with a variety of clients of all sizes and is responsible for assisting them with their business operations, Revenue audits and estate planning, as well as providing assistance with financial applications and complex debt restructuring.
Paul provides an open and honest service for our clients, and aims to offer practical advice when it is required, not just when it is requested. He offers peace of mind in the present but also the opportunity to consider how a client’s business may develop into the future.

Michael Byrne
Michael Byrne
Michael is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 30 years’ experience in professional practice and works with and supports a variety of business types including start-ups, established businesses through to international businesses operating in Ireland.
Michael began his training with DBASS following completion of a Degree in Business Management from Trinity College.
He has since completed numerous Audit, Tax and Business Management courses.
Michael heads the firms Compliance Department and is responsible for assisting clients with their accounts and statutory audits.
As an experienced business advisor Michael offers bespoke tax consultancy services to our clients, ensuring that the service is about much more than just compliance. Michael offers tax restructuring and retirement planning services, and as a qualified insolvency practitioner advises on business restructuring.

Melissa Phibbs

Melissa joined DBASS in 2004 as a trainee, with a First Class Honours Degree in Business Studies & Accounting from the Institute Of Technology ,Tallaght.
Since obtaining her qualification as a Chartered Accountant in 2008 and qualification as a Chartered Tax Consultant in 2012 Melissa has become an integral part of the DBASS team.
She now manages her own busy team who look after a portfolio of our SME clients. Melissa has expertise in all areas of the firm from auditing, financial reporting and tax advice.
Over her years in practice Melissa has gained considerable experience in a number of sectors, most notably the property and construction sectors.
When Melissa is not working she enjoys spending time with her family and Is a loyal supporter of the Dublin GAA Team.

Claire joined DBASS in October 2018 and is a qualified Certified Public Accountant. She is currently studying towards becoming a Chartered Tax Adviser with the Irish Tax Institute.
Claire holds the position of Tax Senior and works within our tax department. She is a dedicated individual who is passionate about assisting clients with their tax affairs. Her enthusiastic and personable approach helps ensure that clients are aware of their tax compliance requirements as well as potential tax planning opportunities available.
When Claire is not working she enjoys walking her dog in the countryside and travelling. She is also a keen home baker

Eoghan Farrelly
Eoghan Farrelly
Eoghan is a long standing member of DBASS having joined the team in June 2003. He holds a BA in Economics and Politics, a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting and is a Chartered Tax Consultant (CTC) and a Chartered Accountant (FCA).
As Taxation Services Manager, Eoghan works across the practice providing tax planning solutions for all of our clients. He provides taxation and commercial advice and is responsible for formulating plans to meet our client's needs in the most efficient manner.
Eoghan is highly experienced in the area of wealth management for companies and individuals, including group restructures, succession and wealth distribution. He is particularly knowledgeable in the Construction, Logistics and Services Sectors.
When Eoghan is not working he enjoys spending time with family, gardening, hiking and listening to music. He is also fond of the odd podcast and is an avid supporter of both GAA and Rugby.

Daniel joined DBASS as a trainee accountant in 1999 and currently works as a Manager within the SME accounts team.
As a qualified Chartered Accountant Daniel provides advice and mentoring to SME’s in a broad range of sectors including bloodstock, professional services and rental property.
His experience covers audit and accounting, taxation, bank finance and business mentoring
When Daniel is not working he enjoys playing golf and hill walking. He also enjoys watching football (soccer) and Formula 1 motor racing and has been fortunate enough to attend a few Formula 1 races on occasion.

Susan joined DBASS in June 2018 and is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant. She currently works on the preparation of accounts for SME’s and has extensive experience in the Retail sector. Susan qualified in Ireland and worked here for a number of years in industry before taking her talents to the Big Apple to work in practice for over 10 years. Upon her return she dedicated herself to not only her new born twins but also working practice.
Outside of work Susan is a member and treasurer of Ratoath Wheelers Cycling Club and is a gym regular. She is also a long term volunteer within her parish, when she is not busy ferrying her 2 young daughters to their many activities.

Orla joined DBASS in July 2024 and is a qualified Chartered Tax Advisor having gained her qualification in 2023. As an Assistant Tax Manager she works in the area of tax planning including company / group restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, succession planning and tax compliance. Orla is also a lecturer with the Irish tax Institute.
When Orla is not working she is an avid equestrian who enjoys training and competing with her horses.

Alex joined DBASS in May 2023 having previously worked as an Inspector of Taxes with the Revenue Commissioners before going on to work in the private sector in a number of roles.
Alex has worked across a wide range of tax areas, specialising in Personal Tax and VAT. Alex currently heads up the Personal Tax Compliance Section in DBASS and assists with various queries as they arise across other Taxheads.
Alex has a keen interest in most sports and music, playing the occasional round of golf and attending concerts and shows as much as possible. Alex is married with three children and enjoys wider family gatherings taking on the role of “Head Chef” for such occasions at home.

Barbara joined DBASS in February 2015 as Company Secretary Administrator. She is responsible for assisting our clients with the setup of new companies, ensuring annual returns are filed in a timely manner, advising on share transfers, and assisting the Tax Department with the restructuring of companies.
Barbara has 3 children, which keeps her very busy. In her free time, she likes attending fitness classes and participating in her favourite hobby, Shopping!!!

Jacky has gained extensive HR experience over the course of her career with HR and Business Support positions across a range of industries. Through her previous experience Jacky has developed a strong passion for people and culture, recruitment and strategy development. Jacky places friendly and engaging culture of DBASS as one of the most important aspects of working here.

When Jacky is not working she is the Chief Operations Officer for her own little company which is made up of one husband, three daughters and one son who all take it in turns to keep her very busy.

Ann manages our reception area and is responsible for meeting and greeting all of our valued clients and visitors to the DBASS offices. Ann joined the team in 2009 and is an integral part of DBASS. Her knowledge of our systems and her experience dealing with client queries makes her invaluable to the DBASS team.

Sive joined DBASS in January 2019 and is responsible for all of the marketing, event and communications activities at DBASS. She holds a BA in Business and Marketing and a Graduate Diploma in IT and has both digital marketing and graphic design skills.
Sive has worked in a variety of marketing roles across a wide range of sectors including construction, healthcare and finance and is highly knowledgeable in the areas of branding, event management, social media, design and market segmentation.
When Sive is not working she enjoys pilates, reading and scenic walks. She also enjoys volunteering in her local community and with her children’s school PA groups.
